Authorization of Operating Personnel in Nuclear Facilities
According to article 4, subparagraph c of sub-clause 4 of Nuclear Regulation Law No 7381 dated 05/03/2022, it is obligatory to obtain authorization certificate from the Authority for “personnel to take part in the activities determined by the Authority regarding the activities within the scope of this Law”
The regulations regarding the authorization are as follows:
- Regulation on the Operating Organization, Qualifications and Training of Operating Personnel and Licenses of Operating Personnel in Nuclear Power Plants published in the Official Gazette No. 30029, dated 5/4/2017,
- Regulation on the Operating Organization, Personnel Qualification and Operating Personnel Licensing for Research Reactors published in the Official Gazette No. 25973, dated 21/10/2005.
For nuclear power plants, it is obligatory for the operating personnel working as following positions to obtain a Chief Operator license from the Authority or an Operator license related to their duties:
- Chief Operator
- Control Room Operator
- Turbine Operator
Also, Chief Operator and Operators to be assigned in research reactors have to obtain an operator license from the Authority in accordance with the procedures and principles specified in the relevant regulation.
