Radiation Protection Procedures
In Article 18 of the "Presidential Decree on the Organization and Duties of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority" published in the Official Gazette dated 8/3/2022 and numbered 31772; To carry out the works and procedures regarding the authorization of natural and legal persons to provide services for radiation protection determined by the Authority,
Determining compliance criteria for activities that may affect the protection of employees, the public, the environment and future generations from radiation and carrying out approval-related works and procedures are among the duties and authorities of the Radiation Protection Department.
In this respect, matters related to the ability of international surveillance companies to measure radiation are carried out within the scope of the Procedures and Principles on Radiation Measurements By International Surveillance Companies, which entered into force on 7/4/2016. Efforts to update the aforementioned legislation are in progress, and currently, references to the Türkiye Atomic Energy Authority in these documents should be considered to have been made to the Nuclear Regulatory Authority, and related authorization activities should be continued.

Application Documents
1. Letter of Commitment Belonging to the Radiation Measurement Officer and the Authorized Person of the Institution (The template can be downloaded from here. This letter must be uploaded to the required area in the e-application after it has been approved by the Radiation Protection Officer (RKG) and the Organization Authority, and the signed original document must be sent to the Nuclear Regulatory Authority by mail).
2. Documents showing the technical specifications of radiation measuring devices.
3. Valid calibration certificates of radiation measuring devices.
4. Copy of undergraduate diploma of radiation protection officers, CV and certificates of achievement of Radiation Measurement and Radiation Protection (RÖRK) course.
5. The possible detection of radioactive material during radiation measurement and the precautions to be taken, to be applied in such cases; The Emergency Plan, which includes the steps to be taken according to the characteristics of the controlled commodity, the titles, addresses and telephone numbers of the persons to be contacted, and information and instructions regarding the communication system with other responsible persons.
6. Certificate of Type A international surveillance company.
NOTE: Since the applications are made through e-Government, the practice of delivering the signed and stamped application petition by the authorized person to the Authority has ended.
