The Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NDK) carries out regulatory control activities within the framework of Law No. 7381 Nuclear Regulation Law, Presidential Decree No. 95 and other relevant legislation, to protect workers, the public, the environment, and future generations from the potential harmful effects of ionising radiation arising from the use of nuclear energy and ionising radiation.
The NDK conduct regulatory control over activities related to nuclear energy and ionising radiation through:
• Regulation,
• Authorization and approval,
• Review and assessment,
• Inspection and
• Enforcement.
In addition, within the scope of the Law, the Presidential Decree and other relevant legislation, NDK carries out activities for certification, national radiation monitoring, national radiation sources recording system, national dose registry system, nuclear material accounting and control system. NDK also cooperates with national and international organizations and relevant stakeholders, and ensures accurate and transparent public communication for the protection of individuals, the public, the environment, and future generations from the potential harmful effects of ionising radiation.
